Peaceful Dream

by The Henry

Published November 9, 2008

In a fearless world, we had a fright.
The peaceful warrior came to fight.

He sheath his sword and stabbed my brother.
Holstered his gun and shot my mother.

Then one day the silent monk spoke his mind.
"I have been too nice, so I'll be kind"

The monk without legs walked to town.
The monk in the sky decided to look down.

The blind monk saw his target.
The peaceful warrior did not see it .

"How could he do this just for fun?!"
Although undecided, the monks knew the battle was won.

The closed their eyes and charged the field.
The peaceful warrior that decided to fight, he was struck, forced to yield.

The four monks returned to their place.
To a dream they shall not follow, but decided to chase.

This was a good poem but I think the rhyming could do with a little work.

He sheath his sword and stabbed my brother.
Holstered his gun and shot my mother.

Holstered means put away, unless you knew that already and it was intentional as a metaphor or something. I don't know, I'm not really a read between the lines person.

Also, you do know about the 2 to 1 rule, right? For every item that you post you have to review to other pieces.

Keep writing =).

I was flummoxed by fractious Franny's decision to abrogate analgesics for the moribund victims of the recent conflagration. Of course, to display histrionics was discretionary, but I did so anyways, implicating a friend in my drama to make the effect cumulative. I think a misanthrope would have a prosaic appellation, perhaps one related to autonomy and the rejection of anthropocentrism. I think they wouldn't think much of the prominence of watching the coagulation of tea to prognosticate future malevolent events, not even if those events were related to jurisprudence.
